About Silver State Lawn Care

Eighteen years on the same Henderson routes.

Silver State Lawn Care started in 2008 — one truck, one phone, and a small route through Green Valley. Eighteen years later, the trucks know the cul-de-sacs in Anthem and MacDonald Ranch better than most of the people who live there.

We stayed small on purpose. A maintenance route is only worth the time it takes to do it right — mowers tuned, blades sharpened weekly, irrigation valves checked before the heat sets in, and palms trimmed before the seed pods drop onto the driveway. The work is plain. We just don't skip steps.

Henderson is a zone 9a town with monsoon afternoons and 110° Julys. The yards that look good in August are the ones that were prepped in April. That's the calendar we've kept since 2008.

Eighteen years on the same yards. Same crew, same standard.

— The Silver State Lawn Care crew

What we do — Henderson

Six things, six days a week.

The full yard, not just the mow. Maintenance is the contract; everything else is the reason we keep it.

  • Lawn maintenance

Weekly, biweekly, or monthly mowing + edging + blow-down. Set the cadence once and we keep it through every monsoon week.

  • Fertilization

Pre-emergent in February, summer feed in May, fall feed in September. Calendar built for Henderson zone 9a, not a Midwest playbook.

  • Tree pruning

Mexican fan and queen palm trimming, palo verde shaping, mesquite thinning. Before seed-pod drop, never during nesting.

  • Spring and fall cleanup

Pre-monsoon clear in late June, post-monsoon clear in October. Debris hauled, beds re-mulched, drip lines flushed.

  • Drip irrigation

New installs and repairs — valves, manifolds, pressure regulators, controller programming. We size emitters for the plant, not the patch.

  • Free diagnosis and quote

We come out, walk the yard, listen to what's wrong, and write a number. No sight-unseen bids; no upsell tax.

2008 — 2026

Eighteen years, same routes. One leaf per year.

Started in Green Valley in 2008. Below, each year of Silver State Lawn Care laid down the way the routes were — one leaf, one season, in order.

Almanac · 18 leaves · 2008–2026

2008

One truck, one route.

Started in Green Valley with a single maintenance route and a stripped-down toolset. First job was a fescue patch and a leaking drip valve — same problems we still answer the phone for.

2012

Anthem builds out.

The Anthem master-planned communities filled in. Anthem Highlands and Country Club lots brought sloped-yard work — bigger jobs, longer pruning lists, palo verdes on every other corner.

2015

Cash-for-grass takes off.

SNWA rebate program drove the first wave of turf-to-xeriscape conversions in Green Valley and Seven Hills. We moved from mostly-mow to mostly-prune and irrigation.

2019

MacDonald Ranch + Seven Hills.

Service area widened east and south. Sun-exposed slopes, palm trims at 30+ feet, and HOA plant-list submittals became the weekly paperwork.

2023

Same crew, fifteen-year clients.

Several of our 2008 customers still on the rotation — fifteen consecutive years. Same Tuesday, same crew, same standard.

2026

Eighteen years in.

Active on Yelp, 26 photos, January 2026 update. Same phone, same Henderson zip codes, same approach. Free diagnosis and quote — still.

How it works

Plain, no runaround.

  1. 01

    A phone call

Address, what you're seeing, and what you'd like to fix. Owner answers Mon–Sat.

  2. 02

    Free site visit

We walk the yard, check the drip valves, look at the palms, and ask the questions that change the price.

  3. 03

    Written quote

Line items, no fine print. Diagnosis is free; the quote is good for 30 days.

  4. 04

    Scheduled work

Most maintenance routes start within a week. Tree pruning and irrigation work follow within 2–3 weeks.

  5. 05

    Walkthrough + invoice

We finish the way we started — standing in the yard with you, pointing at what got done.

That’s it. No portals, no logins — a phone call or an email is all it takes.

The palette we plant

Six Henderson-HOA-friendly plants we lean on.

Six SNWA-approved species we've planted enough times to know the failure modes. Each one passes Green Valley Ranch, Anthem, MacDonald Ranch, and Seven Hills review boards on the first submittal.

Red yucca

Hesperaloe parviflora

Coral spikes May through September. Zero turf, near-zero water once established.

HOA: GV Ranch · Anthem · Inspirada

Texas sage

Leucophyllum frutescens

Silver-leafed shrub that purple-blooms after a monsoon rain. Cheap to install, slow to outgrow.

HOA: GV Ranch · Seven Hills

Brittlebush

Encelia farinosa

Yellow-flower native. Reads as desert-honest; no HOA ever pushes back.

HOA: Anthem · MacDonald Ranch

Agave

Agave parryi / americana

Architectural accent. House standard for the entry-of-driveway feature plant.

HOA: all Henderson HOAs

Deer grass

Muhlenbergia rigens

Native bunch grass; moves in wind without re-seeding into the rocks.

HOA: GV Ranch · Inspirada

Dwarf bottlebrush

Callistemon viminalis "Little John"

Red-bottlebrush blooms three times a year, 3-foot mature height — no ladder needed.

HOA: Anthem Country Club · Seven Hills

All six on the Southern Nevada Water Authority plant list. All six on our trucks every week.

Reviews — Henderson, NV

Long routes, longer relationships.

  • Same crew, same Tuesday, since the year we moved into Green Valley. Eight years on our maintenance and they've never missed a week, even through the August monsoons.

    Maria L.

    Green Valley · Feb 2026

  • Came out for a free quote on a drip-valve leak. Found two more leaks I didn't know about, wrote a clean number, and we were watering right by the end of the week. Honest crew.

    Greg P.

    MacDonald Ranch · Nov 2025

  • Trimmed three Mexican fan palms and shaped two palo verdes before the seed pods dropped. They cleaned up like they were never there. We'll have them back every July.

    Annette R.

    Anthem Highlands · Aug 2025

  • We had three quotes for fall cleanup and pre-emergent. Silver State was the only one that asked about the HOA's plant list before naming a price. That told me everything.

Questions

Plain answers.

  • Yes. Green Valley Ranch, Anthem, MacDonald Ranch, Seven Hills, and Inspirada all run separate ARC review boards with SNWA-approved plant lists. We've worked them since 2008 and submit the plant schedule with the install bid.
